That lens

I'll be honest: I love my Sigma 10-20mm lens. It's truly fantastic. Not the fastest on the block, it goes f/4-5.6, but if there's one thing that's made me love taking photos, its the results from it that I've been modestly proud of. Most of the shots I've blogged (at least in recent memory) are taken with it. At 10mm there's a little bit of distortion (which is absolutely fine with me!), and it adds a little bit of weight to the camera too given that it's a HSM (hyper-sonic motor) model which will auto-focus on cameras lacking the necessary motor on the mount. In many ways, it's now my day-to-day lens.

Running Lines

The lens goes for around £280/300 on Amazon and with it being a Sigma lens, it comes in both Nikon and Canon mounts. I can't speak highly enough of it. One other lenses that has piqued my fancy, though don't (yet) own, is the truly yummy 10.5mm f/2.8 fisheye (put to excellent use in Mike Franklin's photostream). It's not all that cheap, but I hold out hope that I'll pick one up in due course.

The long story

After much stagnation, I'm utterly thrilled to unveil the new-look design for this 'lil' blog. Initially set for release on New Year's Day, that slipped through my hands, and with a short-notice trip to Macworld, it sat un-loved for a little longer.

What's new? Well the old blog is out to reside at a new sub-domain, and this new one is in. In addition to the new blog, I'll shortly be bringing my Tumblr link-blog over to the new look and feel (that's proving to be a little tricky due to the hoops you have to jump through with Tumblr) -- and in other news, I'm now providing a running collation of my work around the web at TUAW, Download Squad and here for your perusal (note - this is to follow, pending a change of hosts!).

Into the Sunset

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if something isn't working quite right :)

So what can you expect to see written about here, now that I'm writing elsewhere about Apple and more? To be honest, I don't know. Photography? For sure. Life? Why not. Anything else that springs to mind? Definitely.
